Quote to Consider

William Greenhill: “Choice accomplishments, with outward glory and greatness, are no arguments of God’s grace, or God’s special favour towards men. Heathens, and the worst of men, have had these; the prince of Tyrus, who blasphemously said he was a god, he sealed up the sum; he was a complete prince, he had choice endowments, he was full of wisdom, perfect in beauty, he had outward glory and greatness as much as any, he was seated in a paradise, he glistered with pearls and precious stones, he had as choice music as was to be had; yet notwithstanding all these, he was a wretched man, under the curse of God, and was to die the death of the uncircumcised. What vanity is it, therefore, to pride ourselves in any human excellences, to set our hearts upon, or confide in, any outward glory or greatness!” (An Exposition of Ezekiel, pp. 618-619).

Encouraging Quotes

“Just a note to say thank you for the great book, Knowing God and Man. I couldn’t lay it down once I started reading it. It is profound truth and an absolutely brilliant book. I will be using its contents for many references.” - Co. Armagh

“Thank you for the books you kindly sent me. They will be very useful in the year ahead and also for the Journals. The materials you send me are so appreciated in these days of Arminian churches ...” - Lincolnshire, England

“I read the excellent article on the subject of Lefèvre [‘Jacques Lefèvre d’Étaples: Pioneer of French Reform’] ... I would love to quote it in an essay I’m writing to raise awareness of Lefèvre and his influence on the Reformation in France.” - Normandy, France

“I enjoyed your lecture on ‘Martin Luther and God’s Saving Righteousness.’ Although I’ve read it before, the pamphlet ‘Justification: The Heart of the Gospel’ is also excellent and should be linked to at every opportunity! Justification by faith alone is a truth that needs to be hammered home repeatedly.” - Scotland

“I am writing to you after listening to a CPRC sermon on Sermon Audio. I heard of the PR churches through buying a Herman Hoeksema book and quickly noticed the teaching was so much different in a good way to most of modern, watered-down evangelicalism.” - Lancashire, England

“I would like to tell you that I have benefitted a lot from listening to mp3s from the Protestant Reformed Churches and the Covenant Protestant Reformed Church. Thus far I have read some articles written by Prof. David Engelsma and listened to some of his sermons and teachings and Prof. Herman Hanko’s teachings on Ephesians and am currently listening to his teachings on I Peter. I have also listened to several of your teachings on various subjects and some other mp3 files from the CPRC. All this has been of considerable benefit to me. Furthermore, I have bought the 2-volume e-book of Reformed Dogmatics written by Herman Hoeksema. So far I have read most of the first one and it has been very encouraging and also a learning process to me ... I wish to thank you for the faithfulness and love you show towards the holy Word of God. We live in a time where most people hate the truth and we who preach the truth are being ridiculed and hated for it. So I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. It is very encouraging for me to listen to things from the PRC and CPRC. Thank you. Keep up the good work to the honour and glory of God. All glory be to God.” - Denmark

“Thank you very much for continuing to send me the Covenant Reformed News. Sorry I’m not able to get to your meetings in Port Talbot. If you could please send the News to my niece.” - S. Wales

“I needed the challenge of The Fruit of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. In another letter [from my friend] this week, she says, ‘I can’t thank you enough for The Fruit of the Spirit book. What a privilege it is to be blessed every time I read from it.’ I found Believers and Their Seed by Herman Hoeksema really lovely and have been blessed by the sermons on God’s longsuffering, grace, mercy and love to us, which I’ll start to listen to again today. Truly they are a wonderful provision of the Lord to me!” -Yorkshire, England

“I met a Reformed pastor ... who seems quite conservative and who read the Hungarian translations but holds preterist views, so I hope Rev. McGeown’s book will be helpful to me. My mother had the opportunity to show the Hungarian subtitled video in three classes in a secondary school during Reformed Bible studies. There was a girl in the first group who stated that the Bible does not teach predestination, but it is a human invention. The second group was silent because the students were astonished, but the third group said that it was a good sermon. These students had their last lessons in the secondary school, and now they prepare for their graduation. Since this school is a Roman Catholic school (during the years they were forced to participate in Catholic events, so they are influenced by Catholic dogmas) and the ‘Reformed’ pastors are Arminians in this city, it is possible that these students heard/read their first real Reformed sermon in their life then.” - Hungary

“I love the steadfast, Calvinist, Reformed theology [of the CPRC] on the internet. Bless you!” - Florida, USA

“I am enclosing a cheque to help defray the cost of the literature which you so faithfully send to me. It is very much appreciated.” - Co. Antrim

“I have been a long-time reader of your website and have encouraged many to read your articles. One of the members of our church has recently translated some articles for you into Portuguese.” - Australia

“I’m thoroughly enjoying the BRF conference sermons and speeches. I listened to one yesterday on ‘Methuselah.’ It was so enlightening, really fascinating and a great blessing.” - West Midlands, England
