Quotes to Consider

J. C. Ryle: "It costs something to be a true Christian. Let that never be forgotten. To be a mere nominal Christian, and go to Church, is cheap and easy work. But to hear Christ’s voice, and follow Christ, and believe in Christ, and confess Christ, requires much self-denial. It will cost us our sins, and our self-righteousness, and our ease, and our worldliness. All—all must be given up ... Often,—far too often,—people are built up in self-deception, and encouraged to think they are converted when in reality they are not converted at all. Feelings are supposed to be faith. Convictions are supposed to be grace. These things ought not so to be. By all means let us encourage the first beginnings of religion in a soul. But never let us urge people forward without telling them what true Christianity entails. Never let us hide from them the battle and the toil. Let us say to them ‘come with us,’—but let us also say ‘count the cost.’"

Martin Luther: "The way of the world is such that people cannot bear the truth. Let him who would live in the world be silent about the truth ... If, however, you want to testify to the truth, then be prepared to have as enemies the devil with his angels, the world with its wisdom and its greatest intellect, nay, to have as enemies your parents, your father and mother, and your best friends."

Encouraging Quotes

"Thank you very much for your message and greetings! ... I have real respect for your church’s truly Reformed Protestant position and strict confidence in Calvinistic doctrine ... although I haven’t read many books written by PRC theologians, I appreciate, for example, Christ’s Spiritual Kingdom by David Engelsma or Saved by Grace by Hoeksema. I am very impressed by your active role in spreading the gospel of Christ ... I hope you’ll allow me to share your debate on Calvinism vs. Arminianism ... and your Facebook page is very good , helpful too. Thank you!" - Latvia

"I listened to your lecture on the Belgic Confession this morning and was very impressed. I learned a lot of things I never knew before. I heard you have notes with these lectures. Would it be possible to let me have these?" - Co. Antrim

"I’ve been reading the article in the CR News on common grace and Christ’s weeping for Jerusalem. They’re very good. I envy those who are converted into true Calvinism right from the start and don’t have to battle to come to the understanding of God’s Word." - S. Wales

"I have spent some time on your website and find it to be one of the best Reformed sites anywhere and I do appreciate the many great resources you offer. Here in the States good sovereign grace resources are getting harder to find. Thanks again for the great edifying website ..." - Ohio, USA

"Those are marvellous wee pamphlets by Harbach and Hoeksema on the mode and subjects of baptism." - Co. Tyrone

"I wish to let you know that I just received the package of CR News that you sent. Thank you for that. Your audio sermons have served me well as real solid spiritual food not taught in my church. May the Lord continue to bless your ministry with increased wisdom about His Word so hungry souls around the world like me will be nourished." - Canada

"... I’ve downloaded practically all of the articles available on the BRF and CPRC websites and a good number of the articles from the PRTJ website. I have been greatly encouraged to see that many of these articles exhibit the writer’s conviction to stand against the moderating, softening and compromising trends found among many writers in the modern world who espouse the doctrines of grace. I thank the Lord for those who identify error as black and truth as white without mixing the two together ..." - Arkansas, USA

"... I want to tell you what a profound impact tape 4 [of the ‘Reformed Courtship’] series had on me. Although I see now that it should not have been, the teaching was completely new to me. I was so moved at the wonderful way the Lord has provided in a Christian father for the protection of his daughters in the realm of courtship and marriage. I think there is a great need for this teaching to be spread among Christian fathers and Christian girls ... Thank you also for the sermons on ‘Saul.’ I must admit that I didn’t get them originally, as I thought there wouldn’t be much worthwhile teaching on him. How wrong I was! I’ve listened to the first two yesterday and today and have really benefitted ..." - W. Yorkshire, England

"I just wanted to let you know that I am convinced that Reformed (or Calvinistic) doctrine is sound doctrine. I have a lot more peace and can witness much better to people now that I am closer to the truth. Thanks for your material. I have been watching your sermon entitled ‘Be Filled With the Spirit!’ ... Also I greatly enjoyed your critique of ‘The Passion of The Christ.’"

"I was wondering if you would send me some articles/arguments on cessationism. I have many that I debate that still believe in the continuation of prophets, apostles and on-going revelation. As for me, I believe the canon of Scripture is closed ... I do not embrace continuationism; I think it is out-right heresy! Will you send me some articles on cessationism please?" - Alabama, USA

"Please accept my continued thanks for your CR News—most enjoyable and helpful." - S. Wales

"Thank you so much for sending me all your bulletins and other notes. I like to read them very much and learn a lot from your CR News. Now I saw some CDs [of your sermons on Ezekiel 37-39] which are crucial for me to know how to answer the wrong view of prophesy by dispensationalism ..." - Myanmar

"I came across a few of your sermons via the CPRC website and also on Youtube. I really enjoy your messages. I also watched the debate Calvinism versus Arminianism. It was certainly encouraging and comforting to listen to the truth of the Reformed doctrine despite so many people subscribing to the Arminian view. May God continue to bless and keep his people in His name." - Singapore

"Please send me Bound to Join ... Many thanks for the helpful CD sermons. God bless." - Co. Down
