Quote to Consider:

Albert Barnes on John 6:39: "‘And this is the Father’s will ...’ His purpose; desire; intention. As this is the Father’s will, and Jesus came to execute His will, we have the highest security that it will be done. God’s will is always right, and He has power to execute it. Jesus was always faithful, and all power was given to Him in heaven and on earth, and He will therefore most certainly accomplish the will of God."

Announcements (subject to God’s will):

After a week of self-examination, confessing members in good standing are called to partake of the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Your participation in the Lord’s Supper is in part a witness that you repent of your sins, believe that Jesus Christ is your righteousness and desire to live a new and godly life. As this heavenly food can be taken to one’s judgment (I Cor. 11:28-30) and as the common reception of this food is a confession of doctrinal unity (Acts 2:42), the elders supervise the partaking of the sacrament. Visitors from other denominations must request permission from the Council.

Encouraging Quotes:

"Please find enclosed an order and payment for same. I would like to offer my congratulations on the dedication of your new church building. It does my heart good to know that the teaching in that building will be good sound teaching. May God bless all that is done in His name in Ballymena and beyond, i.e., Limerick." - Scotland

"I would like to congratulate you and the church for moving into your new building. May God richly bless your service and worship of Him. Maybe sometime I will be able to go and see it. May the Lord be with you all." - Co. Antrim

"A friend of mine ... pointed me in your direction. The great thing about your site is that after spending so much time reading your articles, I still have not come close to finishing all of them. Very edifying and very helpful in my studies. Thanks again." - Ohio, USA

"Just wanted to thank you for your excellent and courageous sermon on the 7th commandment in the Heidelberg Catechism. It was so challenging and just what I needed to hear. Please keep preaching like this without fear. We were all very thankful for this sermon (as for all others) but this one in particular reminded us of the privilege we have of hearing the voice of our Good Shepherd reprimanding us so clearly." - Rep. of Ireland

"Thank you for the CDs and book Bound to Join ... By the time this letter reaches you, you will have had the new church building dedication—may the Lord bless and prosper you all and glorify His name through the witness of His people gathered at Clarence Street, Ballymena. I pray that Martyn McGeown will be blessed and his ministry prosper to the glory of our great Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am half way through Prof. Hanko’s exposition of the kingdom parables. I am encouraged and blessed." - England

"I am listening to your side of the debate of the Calvinism vs. Arminianism on Youtube. You speak with great authority and confidence. The Holy Spirit, whose job it is to glorify Christ and shed His truth into the hearts and minds of His people, has obviously empowered your representation of His gospel. Thank you ..." - New Zealand

"Thank you for sharing the Covenant Reformed News on ‘The Psalms Versus Common Grace.’ This is very comforting for me since, like Asaph, I also wonder often why a lot of rich people are not Christians at all and that if only God used those people, He might get a lot more done in terms of spreading the gospel and bringing others to the faith ... May God continue to bless your ministry and your new CPRC church building." - Alberta, Canada

"Thank you so much for continuing to send me your Ballymena bulletin. It helps a lot especially the messages and the articles of Prof. Engelsma [on justification]. May God continue to bless your work." - Philippines

"Last night for ‘entertainment’ we sat ... and listened to one of your older NT sermons on marriage. It was very helpful and encouraging, even though we’ve been married for 33 years! Thanks for all you do." - New Jersey, USA

"Thank you very much for the book we received today on the covenant ... It is a subject about which we are desirous to learn. I have just finished reading Contending for the Faith by Prof. Hanko and have found it to be very helpful and insightful. A real blessing." - England

"Thank you for regularly sending the Covenant Reformed News and reviews through the internet. We thank God for your faithful stand for biblical Christianity." - Australia

"I really have to admit I’m grateful for your preaching. You cover so many important—but neglected and ignored—topics in this age of pithy and mostly pathetic preaching. Christians (and soon-to-be Christians) really need to hear the controversial doctrines and topics preached and taught. There’s no way of understanding God’s truth in His Word without covering the ‘hard’ doctrines and truths. These days it’s lacking. At least, that’s my view, not having found very much truly valuable preaching via the standard channels, like sermonaudio.com ... Recently saw your debates, Arminianism and Pentecostalism. It seems you’re always in the minority, two against one, magnified by the majority of callers and e-mailers who are also against God’s truth. However, you really hold your own and shock them with so much Scripture quoted ..." - Spain

"May God bless you and a big thank you for your help and teaching via internet and the written material that you kindly send me. I have been so blessed and it has helped me grow in my faith." - Co. Antrim

"I actually downloaded 30 of your sermons this morning. Can’t wait to listen to them! ... It was your Calvinism debate that sparked the flame in myself that made me realize that Calvinists don’t believe what Arminians have always told me growing up. You gave clear-cut scriptural evidence in a way that made me understand how beautiful the doctrines of grace really are." - Georgia, USA

"Please find enclosed my request for DVDs as per your leaflets. I appreciate joining your services via the DVDs and the sermons are all ‘strong meat’ and illuminating. I would like to join you in singing the Psalms but I do not have a Psalter. Would it be possible to purchase one from you? ... I love the psalm singing at the beginning and end of your DVD services ..." - England
