Quotes to Consider:

Herman Hoeksema: "Not creation, not the fall, not the church, not the predestination of the elect, not even the incarnation, not the cross, are first in the good pleasure of God; but the firstborn from the dead, the glorified Christ, is first. He is the firstborn of every creature ..." (Reformed Dogmatics, p. 333).

C. H. Spurgeon: "We would ply the Trowel with untiring hand for the building up of Jerusalem’s dilapidated walls, and wield the Sword with vigour and valour against the enemies of the Truth." (from the first issue of The Sword and Trowel magazine, 1865).

We welcome visitors from the U.S. to our worship services today—Mr. & Mrs. DeVries from Randolph, Wisconsin, and the Fabers and VanPuttens from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The revised schedule for family visitation is on the back of the bulletin. The theme this year is Building the Walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 4). Janet Napier, the Courtneys, Philip Hall, and the Crossetts are scheduled for this week.

Nathan Buchanan will be admitted to the hospital on Tuesday in order to have some tests to see why he isn’t growing. He will be in the hospital for 2-3 days. May the Lord who cares for the sparrows watch over this little one and give strength and comfort to the Buchanan family.
